Montessori pedagogy for 3 - 6 years old

In the prepared environment for the 3-6 y.o, rightly called ” Children’s House “, the program is divided into 5 areas of activity. These five areas each have specific objectives and allow children to develop their potential by meeting their own development needs.

Sensory

the sensorial activities allow the child to explore abstract concepts in a sensorial fashion (“materialised abstraction”). They also support the development of concentration, independence, social sense, order, imagination and vocabulary.
Mathématiques-montessori seeds of knowledge

Mathematics

Through the mathematics material, the child can manipulate, explore and understand mathematics and geometry concepts such as: the concept of units, the decimal system, the functions of operations and geometric shapes (names and characteristics).

Practical life

The Practical Life activities enable the child to acquire precise competencies, such as pouring water, sewing a button or tie shoelaces. These activities are essential for the development of concentration, eye-hand coordination and fine motricity.

Language

The Language material allows the child to enrich his/her vocabulary, as well as develop accurate oral and written syntax. The child discovers and becomes aware that words are made up of sounds, and sounds made up of letters. The child is introduced to letters, and gradually develops his/her reading and writing.
Culturel - Montessori-seeds of knowledge

Cultural

Through the cultural activities and material, the child develops knowledge in art, music, botany, zoology, history and geography. These activities broaden his/her exposure to the world and foster the development of respect and a sense of wonder.

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 – 15:00
  • Wednesday and Friday: 8:00 – 11:45
