The children's house
Montessori pedagogy for 3 - 6 year-olds
help me do it on my own
In our 3-6 year old environments, also known as La Maison des Enfants, your child will benefit from an individualized program, developed by two Montessori guides (AMI graduates) who work in tandem to immerse your child in a bilingual, French and English environment.
We offer a carefully prepared environment where your child learns autonomy and freedom of exploration, allowing him or her to grow at his or her own pace. This caring environment fosters her academic development and emotional fulfillment, while respecting her unique needs to get her off to a good start in school.

We are committed to providing your child with all the academic and emotional foundations necessary for his or her development, in a caring, respectful and attentive environment.
Within the prepared environment, children evolve at their own pace and with a certain degree of freedom to meet their personal development needs.

5 Spaces

Practical life
Practical Life activities enable children to acquire specific skills, such as pouring water, sewing on a button or tying their shoes. These activities are essential for the development of concentration, hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Sensory
Activities in the Sensory area enable children to explore abstract concepts in a sensory way. The pink tower, the smooth-rough board, the sound boxes, the cylinders... are all activities that focus on the five senses to encourage their ability to observe and discriminate details.

Cultural
Activities in the Cultural Area enable children to nurture their curiosity about the world by exploring art, music, geography, history, zoology and botany. Activities such as geography puzzles, timeline puzzles, bell puzzles, animal puzzles and botanical puzzles help children develop a spirit of respect and admiration for the world around them.

Language
Activities in the language area enable children to enrich their vocabulary and syntax, both orally and in writing, in French and English. Thanks to rough letters and the mobile alphabet, for example, children become aware that words are made up of sounds, and that sounds are made up of letters. Reading and writing are therefore acquired in parallel.

Mathematics
Activities in the Mathematics area enable children to explore mathematical concepts in a concrete, sensory way. By manipulating activities such as strings of beads, geometric shapes and red and blue bars, children learn mathematical concepts such as quantity, the decimal system, the functions of operations and geometric shapes...
Schedules
In the mornings, there is no dedicated recess time, in order to preserve an uninterrupted 3-hour work cycle, which is an essential criterion of Montessori pedagogy.
Lunch is taken in the classroom, in the presence of the guides. Then the children go out to play in our park, where they are also supervised by their guides.
After-school workshops are available to look after your child until 6pm if required.
